Street in Sicily, Italy

Today's illustration is of a breathtaking street in Sicily, Italy.
This is one of the places I definitely want to visit when I have a chance to go to Europe.

This is the finished product.
It was the first time I've done something with oil-base markers (Shinhan) and I underestimated it.
I thought it would be easier than watercolor paint to work with but with markers, you have to focus on details. SO MUCH DETAILS.

I did a rough sketch last night before I went to bed.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of just the sketch.
I didn't know where to start so I started working my way from everywhere.

After some more details and shading...
Then I realized that I didn't finish the sketch last night.
I ended up coloring and adding more details at the same time.

It was around lunch time so I treated myself with some fresh fruit. :)
This is my way of relaxing.

This was the point where I wanted to give up... hurray to daily artist's block.

I took my lovely Micron markers (02) and started doing the outline.
That wasn't in my plan but it actually made it look so much better.

J'ai fini!

Thank god. I won't be doing landscapes for a while.
It was such a long process.
