The original picture looks like this:
GOSH. Isn't she perfect?
She's got the perfect facial structure that makes it easier for a novice artist like me to draw.
As soon as I saw this picture I fell in love with the "aura" it gave out: seductive look, chic outfit, and the flower crown. If I had a crown like this, I would spend all day taking selfies.
This is the sketch. I know, I know. It doesn't look like Barbara at all.
(That's why I said "inspired." I just can't make it look exactly like her.)
I usually finish a drawing in a day but yesterday after I sketched this, I got extremely sick (involving vomiting and fainting) so I had to finish it the next day.
Shading is magical. It just brings the facial structure out.
In the illustration I did right before this one (of Barbara), shadows were darker and the colours were more vivid but I decided to keep this subtle.
I felt great about this one.
I heard from somewhere that your drawing and hand writing reflex your appearance... Does that make me beautiful? :P
So this is the finished product!!!
I'm very satisfied with how it turned out. This is my third illustration on this sketchbook and I can FEEL that I'm improving every day. I hope I could get over the artist's block when I do confront one.
As a bonus...
This was my previous illustration. Sadly, I hadn't taken any pictures during the process.
